     Longview Transit Center; Longview, WA

The Longview Transit Center is a 10 bay, off-street bus transfer center with a 1250 SF passenger services building, car parking lot, and landscaping located in downtown Longview.  Hall Engineering Associates directed a team of professional consultants from the conceptual stages of the project through construction for Cowlitz Transit Authority (CTA).  Hall initially considered ten alternative sites for the project, comparing several factors affecting the suitability of each site.  We also assisted with the successful application for an FTA project grant. 

When a site was selected Hall Engineering prepared a environmental assessment, contamination survey, preliminary design and development cost estimate for the project.  Following the CTA Board of Directors and staff  approval of the preliminary design, we prepared the construction plans, specifications and contract documents.  We also furnished survey, testing, and inspection services for construction.

Hall Engineering represented Valley Transit's interests during negotiating sessions with the City of Walla Walla which resulted in two more bus stalls than originally planned and the Transit's gaining wider bus lanes than originally allowed by the City's layout.
